A 25-year resident of the Upper Valley, Suzanne was raised in New York City. After a BA in French Studies at Barnard College, she studied acting and became an accomplished waitress, later earning a license in and practicing Swedish Massage. She attended medical school in her thirties followed by residency at Dartmouth, during which time she was a gifted with two extraordinary and talented children, Jacob and Emma. Now retired, she started writing a year ago, thanks to a wonderful teacher and mentor, Kim Gifford, and the loving support of her husband Lance Werner. She is thrilled and honored to be included in this inaugural digital issue of Bloodroot Literary Magazine. Quite vain, she has avoided having her picture taken for the last 20 years.
